For starters: Rays at A's, with no Ramos again
UPDATE, 8:05: Cash said Ramos is getting better but isn't ready yet and he would prefer to not use him tonight with the idea he could start tomorrow. ... Cash said the Rays have to be on their game noting the A's just swept the Indians.
DEVELOPING: The Rays are in Oakland tonight looking to bounce back from Sunday's stinging loss, but will be without C Wilson Ramos for a third straight game.
Ramos tweated his left hamstring on Friday and said Sunday he was feeling better and expected to be back in the lineup tonight, and manager Kevin Cash said he had a similar plan, but Jesus Sucre is again behind the plate.
The Rays will have RHP Jake Odorizzi on the mound, as he looks to use the break as a chance for a mental reset and fresh start after an unchartecteristically inconsistent first half.
The A's are starting RHP Daniel Gossett, which will make it two straight games with an unfamiliar opponent for the Rays hitters.
