1 Gasparilla Music Festival Kids Fest: Families get into the Glazer Children's Museum for free and also get a concert by Grammy Award-winning kids band Secret Agent 23 Skidoo at 2:15 p.m. Sunday. 110 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa. (813) 443-3861.

2 Tampa Bay Boat Show: You can find the latest in boating, fishing supplies and accessories at this three-day show of boats, trailers, watercraft, fishing seminars and exhibits showcasing area boat dealers and manufacturers. It's free admission 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday-Sunday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.

3 Chainwheel Drive: Join a ride called a "nature discovery on two wheels" led by a cycling exert. Meet at the Long Center, 1501 N Belcher Road, Clearwater, for a trail ride from 8:30-10:30 a.m. Friday. Free.

4 Jack Kerouac Celebration Weekend: For the birthday weekend of the legendary beat novelist, who died in St. Petersburg in 1969 at age 47, the Wordier Than Thou Bookstore, 5741 75th Ave. N, Pinellas Park, will have open readings by Florida authors from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. Then on Saturday, the beat literature based bar crawl stops along St. Petersburg's Central Avenue at Queens Head, Old Key West Bar, Community Cafe and Urban Deli from 4 to 8 p.m. Free.

5 Mutt Madness: Pets of all types are invited to the 11th annual Dunedin family event with a "Dancing With the Paws" pet-owner dance contest, a "Fido Idol" dog singing competition, pet-owner look-alike contest, pet vendors, low cost vaccinations, food court, lure course and adoptable pets on site. 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Highlander Park, 1920 Pinehurst Road. Free, $5 parking.
